Tecsa helps consumer facing businesses gather and make best use of their customer data, working globally with some of the world’s largest and most innovative loyalty programs.
Challenge
The Tecsa team is growing quickly, the CTO and the Senior Solution Architect needed to find a solution for the increasing IT demands on the business, and to fortify the organisation’s security posture to seek further investment and facilitate their corporate strategy and growth.
Solution
Following a vulnerability scan on Tecsa’s IT environment identifying a security score of 24%, OneMSP prioritised key elements, technical controls and configuration changes and applied them within Microsoft 365 and PowerShell and reported back in weekly meetings.
Once Tecsa’s exposed vulnerabilities were remediated, the onboarding process and enrolment of Tecsa devices began. Defender for business, website content filtering along with corporate and security policies were applied to all devices. Part of the security posture enhancement, included hardening of email security, anti-malware, anti-spam, anti-phishing, whilst also enabling safe links & attachments. Additionally the user experience was enhanced for receiving, preventing and reporting malware, phishing attacks, and domain impersonation.
Multiple Factor Authentication (MFA) was rolled out across the business in conjunction with conditional access policies to further enhance their security posture and limit unauthorised user access. For the modern workplace phase, Modern Device Management (MDM) configurations for Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows devices were applied to allow a unified security posture and use of business apps.
The last phase was to develop a Bring Your Own Device (BOYD) capability which involved the creation of conditional access policies and utilise mobile devices and their operating systems i.e. Android and ios to permits users to access company data securely on a personal devices.
Impact
With a team of consultants working globally, security is a high priority for Tecsa, but equally important is the ability to facilitate remote access in such a way that doesn’t hinder operations and procedures. OneMSP's technical experience and operational nimbleness has implemented the required changes at speed, achieving an increased security score of 84% and permitting Tecsa to pursue their corporate growth ambitions.
